love affair
My loves & I chased a storm down the California coast to catch the tail end of the Zandra Rhodes exhibit at the Mingei Museum.
Well worth cutting thru the dark clouds. It felt like I'd stepped into a dream world. To see all her lovely prints & little delicate details up close was incredible, I was practically drooling all over the chiffon. Some of those frocks looked like they were floating in the air... was beyond inspiring.

gold, coral, turqouise
I went to the opera this week to see Aida. Sets & costumes by one of my heros Zandra Rhodes.
It was an absolutely breathtaking production. A turquoise & coral dream with floating swirling golden pleats.
Zandra's own work has such an Egyptian influence that it was a perfect pairing. So many beautiful details I could rattle on & on- the blue elephant with wing like ears, the raven and anubis head dresses, the sun ray eye of horus & all the hand painted capes & gowns. A brilliant production.
**Jo Belle- you were sorely missed- I'll see you soooon! xx
